Hommage à l'esthetique Japonaise
A tribute to Japanese aesthetics

Après avoir fait ses études à Tokyo, Mikio Watanabe quitte le japon en 1977 pour vivre à Paris.

C'est entre 1979 et 1981 qu'il apprend la gravure, sous la conduite de Stanley William Hayter et se spécialise dans la technique de la manière noire. Tirant du procédé un rendu feutré très épuré et employant parallèlement la photographie et l'aquarelle, Watanabe élabore son travail autour d'une esthétique intimiste du nu et des formes naturelles.

After studying in Tokyo, Mikio Watanabe left Japan in 1977 to live in Paris.

Between 1979 and 1981, he learnt engraving under the guidance of Stanley William Hayter, and specialised in the manière noire technique. Using photography and watercolour in parallel, Watanabe developed his work around an intimate aesthetic of the nude and natural forms.

Leonardo Lucchi est né à Cesena, et etudie à l'école d'art de la céramique de Faenza, ou il obtient son diplôme en 1970. L' exposition personnelle à la galerie Le Arti de Ravenne et celle de Riccione au Departement Culture de la ville, signent une étape importante de sa carrière artistique.

Leonardo Lucchi was born in Cesena and studied at the Faenza School of Ceramic Art, graduating in 1970. His solo exhibitions at the Le Arti gallery in Ravenna and the one in Riccione at the city's Department of Culture marked an important stage in his artistic career.
